Lead Data Software Engineer

We are seeking a Lead Data Software Engineer to build and evolve scalable, secure data platforms that power analytics and reporting across the organization. You will guide data pipeline and warehouse development, partner with cross-functional stakeholders, and raise engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable data management systems and end-to-end data pipelines
• Build and optimize datasets, storage, and retrieval patterns for performance and cost
• Develop complex SQL procedures and scripts for transformation, aggregation, and access
• Ensure data integrity, security, and availability in line with industry practices
• Implement monitoring and controls to maintain high data quality in production
• Coordinate with data architects, modelers, and IT partners to align on goals and delivery
• Drive data warehouse strategy focused on scalability, reliability, and performance
• Automate data processing and integration workflows with Python
• Validate and analyze data to confirm requirements for BI and reporting use cases
• Evaluate and integrate new data engineering tools and methodologies to improve the platform

Requirements

• 5+ years of data engineering experience delivering production data pipelines
• Leadership experience guiding technical decisions and mentoring engineers
• Project delivery experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders on data initiatives
• Advanced SQL skills including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning
• Strong database knowledge of data modeling, RDBMS concepts, and database design
• Proficient Python skills for data processing, automation, and integration
• Upper-Intermediate English (B2) proficiency for day-to-day collaboration

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
• Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform data services beyond core warehousing
