Responsibilities

Test Automation Framework & Infrastructure

  • Design, build, and maintain Python-based automation frameworks for testing UniFi switches across firmware releases
  • Develop and verify physical switch testbeds with controllable port connections, PoE loads, traffic generators, and link partners
  • Maintain test infrastructure reliability — device provisioning, firmware flashing automation, test environment resets, and result reporting dashboards
  • Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude..etc) to accelerate test case generation, triage failing tests, and speed up root-cause analysis on large regression runs

Protocol & Feature Automation

  • Automate testing of core L2/L3 switching features: VLANs, STP/RSTP,IGMP snooping, QoS, ACLs…etc
  • Strong understanding of switch platforms
  • Ability to conduct performance and stability testing
  • Reproduce field-reported issues and validate fixes before release

Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering and product teams to shape quality bars and go/no-go release decisions
  • Document bugs clearly with reproducible steps, supporting logs, and impact assessment
  • Continuously improve QA processes, expand automation coverage, and enhance testing tooling

Qualifications

Automation & Tooling

  • Strong hands-on Python skills for building test automation frameworks
  • Experience with CLI/SSH automation and REST API test automation
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or equivalent) for scheduled/nightly automated regression runs
  • Practical use of AI tools to speed up test generation, debugging, and log analysis

Process & Mindset

  • Solid grasp of software testing methodologies, issue reporting, and test case management
  • Strong ownership mindset — able to independently build out test coverage for new features from spec
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple testing tasks in parallel
  • Passion for quality, networking, and continuous learning in a fast-evolving environment

Preferred

  • CCNA or equivalent networking certification.
  • Familiarity with traffic generation tools (iPerf, Ixia, Spirent, or similar)
  • Hands-on experience testing ProAV-over-IP technologies such as Dante, ST 2110, NDI, or SDVoE.
  • Contributions to internal test frameworks, tooling, or open-source automation projects
