We are seeking a Senior JavaScript Node.js Developer to join a contact-centre transformation programme for a retail e-commerce platform selling connected consumer devices. This initiative focuses on building two new self-serve customer journeys on the client's website: a digital returns and order-cancellation journey, and an appointments journey. You will work as an embedded delivery team member within a Scrum framework led by a client-side Project Manager, Product Owners, and Scrum Master.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and test AWS-based backend services supporting the digital returns, order cancellation, and appointment self-serve journeys
  • Integrate new services with existing client systems and internal APIs
  • Participate in sprint planning, refinement, and daily standups within a Scrum delivery model led by the client Product Owner and Scrum Master
  • Use CI/CD via GitHub Actions for build and deployment processes
  • Collaborate closely with Salesforce developers and QA engineers on the same team
  • Support the development of the digital returns journey, enabling customers to initiate, cancel and track returns
  • Contribute to order cancellation self-serve functionality, integrating with the client's existing order-management and cancellation services
  • Build appointment self-serve capabilities, integrating with the client's existing scheduling system

Requirements

  • 5+ years of strong experience with TypeScript and Node.js
  • Proven, hands-on experience working in a serverless architecture, ideally using AWS-native patterns and services
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, and Step Functions
  • Familiarity with AWS S3, DynamoDB, and RDS
  • Practical experience with Git or similar version control systems
  • Background working in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Proven track record of delivering robust, scalable, and maintainable systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with effective team collaboration abilities
  • High attention to detail with the ability to work independently and proactively
