Lead Java Backend Developer

We are seeking a Lead Java Backend Developer to build and lead a new development team responsible for delivering a major healthcare platform project. This role involves driving backend architecture and API modernization to replace a legacy healthcare UI with a decoupled, high-performance web application.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop lightweight, scalable backend services that integrate seamlessly with existing legacy APIs
• Enforce secure authentication protocols to protect sensitive healthcare data
• Establish robust system observability through detailed logging and activity monitoring
• Optimize backend performance through parallel API calls, caching strategies, and temporary mock services to address API gaps
• Support the UI modernization target of a 60% improvement in screen load times
• Guide the team through rapid 4-week Agile sprints as a hands-on leader
• Orchestrate CI/CD pipelines to ensure consistent delivery of containerized backend services

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Technical Lead guiding backend development teams
• Expertise in Java, Spring Framework, and Spring REST
• Hands-on experience in OAuth 2.0 authentication implementation
• Strong knowledge of database logging, access control, and activity monitoring
• Familiarity with Docker, Jenkins, and cloud-based sandbox environments (GCP)
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher
