Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is looking for an Operations Engineer to join the Ops Integration Engineering (OIE) team. OIE is responsible for bridging the gap between engineering innovation and field operations by ensuring new automation technologies, equipment, and systems are successfully planned, piloted, launched, and adopted across the AMZL network. This role supports the full lifecycle of automation programs — from early-stage pilot planning through network-wide expansion — and requires a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where cross-functional coordination and field presence are critical to success.

The ideal candidate is comfortable operating independently in the field, building relationships with site leadership and partner teams, and translating complex technical programs into clear operational standards. You will travel extensively (~80%) to Amazon sites across North America to support installations, testing, launches, and post-launch performance monitoring.

Key job responsibilities
As an Operations Engineer on the OIE team, you will own the operational integration of new automation equipment and systems across Amazon’s last-mile logistics network. Your work spans two core functions:

Pilot Planning

Partner with Innovation & Design, Process Engineering, and Safety teams to develop the operational framework for new automation pilots. This includes building training curricula, defining success criteria and key performance indicators, supporting Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), providing inputs to site selection, and creating the operational standards that will govern how associates interact with new technology.

Operational Readiness & Expansion

Lead the on-the-ground operational readiness for automation programs expanding across the network. Develop and deliver pre-launch training for site operations teams, provide on-site support during launch windows, track post-launch performance metrics against defined success criteria, and coordinate the handoff to ACES and site ownership once performance stabilizes. Identify and escalate operational risks, adoption gaps, and process deficiencies that could impact program success.
