As a Senior Mission Integration Engineer at Impulse, you will be responsible for executing the technical integration of customer payloads and mission requirements onto Impulse space vehicles. In this role, you will bridge customer technical teams and internal engineering disciplines – establishing hardware, software, and operational interfaces from kickoff through delivery. You will lead technical problem-solving, maintain baseline interface documentation, and ensure mission integration readiness across complex missions.
  • Own and maintain technical baseline documentation, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and compliance matrices for customer missions
  • Lead multi-disciplinary coordination across different technical focus areas to resolve integration issues
  • Partner with Responsible Engineers (REs) and Mission Managers to evaluate evolving spacecraft capabilities against customer requirements
  • Proactively identify technical risks early in the mission lifecycle and formulate engineering trade-offs and mitigations
  • Support mission verification, environmental test reviews, and launch site integration flows
  • Maintain traceability through clear action item tracking, meeting records, and analysis/test/inspection data in shared company repositories
  • Occasionally travel to support hardware integration events, test campaigns, or launch operations (less than 20% travel)

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in systems engineering, mission integration, or complex technical project execution
  • Strong understanding of core aerospace subsystem interfaces and familiarity with tracking contract requirements against technical deliverables
  • Experience maintaining technical documentation, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), or verification matrices

  • Master’s degree in an engineering discipline
  • Active security clearance or willingness to obtain
  • Experience working directly as a technical point of contact with external partners or customers in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with civil space or national security processes and systems
  • Strong organizational skills with a track record of documenting technical processes, interface definitions, and verification logic

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
