Engineering Manager- Release & Developer Productivity
We are on a mission to pioneer the world’s next era of play. As we grow across Europe and Latin America, we’re building The Playstack - the technology powering the next generation of sports, gaming, and fan experiences. Join us, and help make it the most widely used platform in the world! From operations, to marketing, to product, we are looking for talented people who will shape how millions of customers play, watch, and connect every day.
We're looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Platform organisation, leading a team focused on release enablement, engineering quality, and developer productivity. You'll lead a team responsible for critical developer-facing systems and practices, including CI/CD, release automation, quality guardrails, test infrastructure, local development workflows, and productivity tooling. Working closely with product engineering, platform teams, QA, SRE, and engineering leadership, you'll help make shipping software across Super faster, safer, and more predictable.
What the role involves
- Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team, supporting engineers' growth, managing performance, setting clear expectations, and creating an environment where people can do impactful work.
- Drive improvements in release engineering and software delivery, owning and evolving the systems, workflows, and practices that enable teams to release safely, frequently, and with confidence.
- Improve engineering quality at scale, partnering with QA, product engineering, and platform teams to strengthen quality gates, testing strategies, release readiness, and production confidence.
- Increase developer productivity by identifying and reducing friction in the engineering workflow, including build times, CI reliability, local development environments, test feedback loops, deployment flows, and operational handoffs.
- Lead technical and architectural decision-making, guiding the team in designing scalable, maintainable solutions for CI/CD, automation, developer tooling, test infrastructure, and platform integrations.
- Collaborate across engineering, working with multiple squads, tribes, and platform teams to understand pain points, align priorities, and deliver solutions with broad organisational impact.
- Foster operational excellence, establishing strong ownership practices for the systems your team runs, including reliability, observability, incident response, and continuous improvement.
- Translate engineering problems into business impact, connecting improvements in release quality, delivery speed, and developer experience to measurable outcomes for the wider organisation.
What we are looking for
- Engineering management experience, ideally leading platform, release engineering, QA engineering, developer productivity, infrastructure, or tooling teams.
- Strong understanding of modern software delivery practices, including CI/CD, release automation, deployment pipelines, testing strategies, and quality gates.
- Experience improving developer workflows at scale, such as build systems, local development environments, test infrastructure, monorepos, CI reliability, or internal developer platforms.
- Technical depth in platform engineering, with the ability to guide architectural decisions and challenge technical trade-offs.
- A quality-focused mindset, with experience partnering across engineering to improve release confidence, production readiness, and defect prevention.
- Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, expectation setting, career development, performance management, and creating clarity in ambiguous environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, especially when working with engineering teams that depend on shared platforms or centralised tooling.
- Strategic thinking, with the ability to balance immediate delivery needs against long-term platform health, engineering efficiency, and organisational scale.
- A pragmatic approach to platform work, focused on solving real engineering problems, measuring impact, and avoiding tooling for tooling's sake.
What we offer
- Medical / Health Insurance
- Open Annual Leave
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Training & Learning Development
Additional benefits vary by country and will be shared during the hiring process
