Lead DevOps Engineer

We’re looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to join our team in London, UK in a hybrid working mode. In this role, you will support mission-critical derivatives trading systems and real-time market data platforms, ensuring high availability, resilience and compliance with industry regulations. You will work closely with global partners, trading desks and engineering teams to implement best-in-class deployment practices, optimize performance and enhance overall reliability across complex trading environments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proactive management of workflows and system reliability for global trading environments
• Design and implement best practices for application deployment, monitoring and observability
• Support and troubleshoot production issues in real-time, providing rapid incident resolution
• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines for front-office environments to improve release efficiency
• Collaborate with traders, developers and infrastructure teams to ensure system scalability and performance
• Lead integration and performance testing strategies for low-latency trading platforms
• Optimize processes for compliance and audit readiness, including regulatory standards (RTS6)
• Provide subject matter expertise for FIX connectivity, market data distribution and vendor integrations
• Drive continuous improvement and technical initiatives to reduce operational risks and technical debt
• Participate in on-call rotation for global trading infrastructure support

Requirements

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in supporting trading systems in front-office environments
• Proven expertise in FIX protocol engineering and vendor/exchange certification
• Strong hands-on skills in Python, PowerShell and scripting for automation tasks
• Familiarity with C# and relational database concepts, including SQL
• Experience troubleshooting and implementing market data distribution systems (RTDS – ADS/DACS/ADH)
• Solid knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation processes for mission-critical systems
• Operational experience with OMS/EMS platforms (such as TT, Bloomberg, NYFIX)
• Strong incident management capabilities in high-pressure environments
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with time-series analytics frameworks (kdb+, Shakti)
• Knowledge of multicast messaging protocols and real-time data traffic management
• Familiarity with cloud-native DevOps solutions and container orchestration
• Awareness of algo-trading compliance standards (RTS6) and audit processes
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools and observability frameworks
