Senior Backend/API Automation Test Engineer

The Test / Automation Engineer role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining a robust automation framework to support global testing operations. This project aims to enhance engineering productivity, improve testing infrastructure, and ensure high-quality software delivery through advanced automation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain an automation framework for testing the department's systems globally
• Manage, monitor, and improve the infrastructure
• Develop custom tools and integrate with existing tools to increase engineering productivity
• Define the automation book of work, collaborating with the team to deliver efficiencies and productivity improvements via test automation
• Liaise with multiple stakeholders at all levels across the bank, including international locations
• Comply with test strategy, testing standards, templates, and test plans

SKILLS

Must have

• A minimum of 7.5 years of experience is required, with at least 8 years preferred
• Experience with BDD frameworks like Cucumber
• Experience in Backend testing with APIs & Microservices
• Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring Boot & Spring
• Experience with build tools like Maven or Gradle
• Strong scripting/programming skills in Java & Python
• Working experience with SQL and UNIX
• Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, TeamCity)
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to enhance productivity, code quality, and testing efficiency

• Experience in building test automation frameworks • Experience working in a cloud environment • Experience with cloud databases such as Azure SQL & PostgreSQL • Experience in Banking & Financial Markets
