Data powers every package we deliver—and as our Engineering Manager, you’ll power the team behind it.

At Instabee, our Data Platform team is at the heart of how we make faster, smarter decisions, from lead times and locker performance to merchant checkout analytics. We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead this team, someone who's ready to grow people, scope projects and shape deliveries, and manage stakeholders with ease.

You should understand the product roadmap well enough to contribute to it, be comfortable facilitating discussions and unblocking the team, and bring enough high tech fluency to support the team when it's needed. You'll join our EM crew and work closely with your team's Product Manager, Staff Engineer, and business stakeholders across the company.

Some of the things you'll do:

  • Lead a small, sharp team of engineers. 1:1s, coaching, hiring, and performance, all on you

  • Continue build a team culture where psychological safety isn't a buzzword, it's the baseline

  • Build a strong partnership with your Product Manager and Staff Engineer to clearly advocate for the team’s roadmap and constraints, while effectively bridging communication with Engineering Directors and Business Leads

  • Help the team break down messy, ambiguous problems into concrete next steps

  • Own delivery and team health in a lean setup. No safety net of extra support layers beneath you

  • Help shape a strong EM culture by sharing what you learn (and stealing what works from others)

Your future team

The Data Platform team is a central team building a modern data platform on GCP and Snowflake for delivering core data products and metrics to the whole organization. It is pulling in data from everywhere, and owning everything from CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code to pipeline orchestration. The work is technical, high-impact, and essential to whether the rest of the business can actually trust its data.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys leading people and isn't afraid to dive into the messy parts of building a team.

What you'll bring to the table:

  • A coaching mindset and passion for team dynamics: You are genuinely energized by growing people, building trust, and shaping high-performing teams.

  • The courage to guide through change: You have the guts to hold hard conversations when necessary and steer the team through organizational shifts.

  • Adaptive leadership: The instinct to know when to lead versus when to manage, and the wisdom to tell the difference.

  • Scoping, prioritizing, and planning: Proven ability to break apart complex projects into clear, actionable steps and realistic goals.

  • Ways of Working & unblocking: Expertise in agile practices, facilitating technical discussions, and clearing roadblocks to keep the team moving forward.

  • Clear stakeholder communication: Strong expectation management skills across business leads and directors..

  • High-level technical fluency: Enough tech background (e.g., modern data platforms, infrastructure) to earn respect, understand context, and support the team where needed.

  • Product roadmap alignment: Experience contributing directly to product strategy to advocate for the team’s roadmap.

  • Language skills: Spoken or written Swedish is a plus, though English is our daily working language.

What you'll get

We can promise you'll be challenged, grow fast, and work alongside genuinely excellent people. If you like shaking things up and building new ways of working from scratch — this is your place.

Beyond the usual essentials, we've also got:

👶 Six months' parental pay: Step away and give your little one everything they need

🎂 A day off on your birthday: Because you deserve to celebrate properly

⏰ Hybrid & Flexible: Work the way that works for you

Diversity and inclusion matter deeply to us, and we're committed to building a workplace where every perspective is valued and everyone has room to grow.

If leading through change, growing great engineers, and turning complex challenges into clear paths forward sounds like your kind of work, we’d love to hear from you!
