Software Engineer II, Engineering Productivity, Full Stack

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Germany: €86000 - €88000 (EUR) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Write efficient code that's easy to understand, well-organized and simple to maintain.
• Build tools and scalable infrastructure that can be reused for different parts of the product, following best practices at every stage of development.
• Debug and fix issues that are reported during testing, and come up with ways to stop these problems from happening again in the future.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 1 year of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, GO, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 2 years of experience in Android Application or Platform development.
• Experience in backend coding languages such as GOLang, Rust, or Java.
• Experience in ML model coding languages (e.g., Python).
