This is a unique opportunity to join a growing Data & Analytics team at an early stage and help build the function from the ground up. As the second member of the team, the Senior Data Analyst will partner closely with the Data & Analytics Manager and play a critical role in defining how analytics are delivered across the organization. The environment is fast-paced, hands-on, and highly collaborative, making it ideal for someone who enjoys creating structure, solving complex problems, and influencing the future direction of modern analytics practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Works with stakeholders from across the company to understand business needs and translate them to actionable data products, increase adoption of analytics solutions and embed data-driven decision making into business processes.
- Designs, builds, and maintains certified business data products that support reporting, Databricks AI/BI, Genie, self-service analytics, and future AI initiatives.
- Manages change to data assets using GitHub, including branching, pull requests, peer review, and promotion from development through production.
- Builds and curates the data models and metric views that support accurate, trustworthy results from Databricks AI/BI tools, working from metric definitions established by the analytics lead.

- Helps maintain trusted and governed data products aligned with established data ownership, security, and access control standards.
- Assists in evaluating and improving the quality, accuracy, and user experience of AI-powered analytics and natural-language query solutions.
- Monitors existing data products for accuracy and continued relevance and retires or rebuilds them as business needs change.
- Supports and enables our data champions and super users through training, working sessions, and a feedback loop for improving answer quality as AI/BI adoption expands company wide.
- Shapes and builds upstream datasets in bronze and silver layers as needed to support reporting work.
- Translates vague or competing business requests into clear requirements and delivers products that get used.
- Identifies opportunities to improve business processes through analytics, automation, reusable data products, and intelligent self-service capabilities.
- Be a leader in Knutson’s Zero Incident safety culture to drive compliance and continuous improvement.
- Participation and completion in scheduled and applicable safety training, as determined by the company.

- Ability to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships across business units and to facilitate productive conversation in a cross-functional, collaborative, team-based environment.
- Understanding data governance concepts including data ownership, stewardship, quality standards, business definitions, access controls, and certified data products.
- Experience supporting self-service analytics adoption through stakeholder engagement, user enablement, training, documentation, or change management activities.
- 5+ years’ experience in developing interactive data visualizations in PowerBI, Tableau, or similar applications.
- Fluency in SQL, including the ability to write and review complex analytical queries and to model data rather than simply query it.
- Strong knowledge of version control practices in GitHub applied to data and analytics assets.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain data and metric decisions to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and set priorities in an environment where processes are still being established.

- Python for data analysis and automation.
- Proven experience building and scaling analytics capabilities in a startup, consulting, or early-stage business setting.
- Experience with data product management, semantic model design, or governed self-service analytics environments.
