Senior Software Engineer, Applications - Unmanned Aircraft Systems

Our Engineering Team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Applications - Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). You would be responsible for creating intuitive graphical user interfaces and networking applications for TrellisWare's wireless communication products, using today's modern software technologies. Enhancing cohesiveness and maintaining team morale is a responsibility of all our team members, as is the ambition for self-improvement and talent development. The essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing user-facing web, PC, and mobile applications.
- Enhancing and maintaining a suite of wireless networking configuration and situational awareness tools.
- Developing intuitive visualization techniques for large data sets.
- Documenting and presenting design alternatives using good personal practices and corporate defined engineering processes.
- Optimizing web requests across multiple servers from a single client.
- Engineer flexible, efficient solutions that accommodate multiple market verticals and user workflows.
- Develop relationships with team members built on trust and respect.
Our tech stack includes:
- JavaScript, Typescript, ReactJS, Kotlin/React Native.
- C# (.NET 10, .NET Framework), Avalonia, WPF, WinForms.
- C++, Python, Scripting Languages like Bash and PowerShell.
- Windows, Linux, Android.
Education and work experience requirements are:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
- Minimum of seven years’ industry experience developing user interface applications.
- Experience implementing contemporary user interface solutions.

- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment are required.
- Strong analytic and problem-solving mindset with ability to debug issues, research solutions, and think from a user’s perspective is essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (including but not limited to discussing technical decisions and documenting code) are required.
- Proficiency in one of the following technology stacks is required: ReactJS web applications, Kotlin/React Native mobile applications, or C# desktop applications (Avalonia, WPF, WinForms).
- Familiarity in a second technology stack (different from your proficiency) is required, demonstrable experience is desired.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking and asynchronous programming.
- Experience building developer-facing tools, libraries, and APIs for third-party integrations is desired.
- Demonstratable experience building responsive user interfaces using modern standards and a focus on code quality, maintainability, and best practices.
- Familiarity with responsible use of AI coding assistants to enhance productivity while maintaining code quality, security, and adherence to project standards.
- Proactive and results driven with strong initiative, prioritization, and sound judgement in execution and decision-making.
- Champion of change who embraces innovation and drives continuous improvement.

TrellisWare Technologies pays competitively according to the market in an individual's geographic location, in addition to their qualifications and experience. The posted range is annually and for individuals located in the San Diego, CA area.
