The Transparency team is seeking a skilled and experienced Data Engineer II who is excited about owning the data space for Transparency. To be successful in this role, you must have a high capacity for Ownership, Bias for Action and Learn and Be Curious. You must be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, be an effective communicator, and be organized. Our business moves rapidly, and it’s important to be able to adapt to these changes while bringing relevant team members along the journey. You will have a high latitude on decision-making, and will work directly with engineering, business and operations stakeholders to define strategy and requirements, and then lead projects from design through delivery.
This is a global role that will include interaction with brands, tech teams, business development, operational teams, and stakeholders across US, EU, CN and IN.
Key job responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain an analytical platform providing access to large datasets and computing power.
- Design, build and maintain data clusters providing access and insights for business needs.
- Design build and maintain data pipelines to transport relevant data to the right destinations.
- Implement data structures using best practices in data modeling.
- Collaborate with Analytics team to implement advanced analytics and GenAI algorithms that exploit our rich data sets for statistical analysis, prediction, clustering and machine learning.
- Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
- Build robust and scalable data integration (ETL) pipelines.
- Author and evangelize Data handling best practices for the organization.
- Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources.
- Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers.

Transparency is an Amazon program that proactively protects consumers against counterfeit products and ensures brands are accurately represented in the marketplace. Transparency protects brands on the FBA (Retail + 3P sellers) and FBM channels, meaning that only Third-Party Sellers (3P) with genuine product are able to list and ship orders to customers.
