About the Role

Arcnine is Tradeify's next trading platform: built by prop traders for prop traders, designed around how traders actually think and operate rather than around generic charting software. It operates in connection with Tradeify accounts and is being built for speed, control, and execution in a performance-critical environment.

We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead the team building Arcnine from the ground up. You'll help take the platform from its current build phase through launch and early iteration, working closely with Product, Design, and the founders to shape both the product and the team building it. You'll report to the CTO, and this is a remote role.

What You Will Do

• Hire, onboard, and grow a team of full-stack and backend engineers for a brand-new product.

• Run regular 1:1s, set clear goals, and give direct, useful feedback.

• Own performance management for your team, including calibration and hard conversations when needed.

• Partner closely with Product and Design to define and prioritize the Arcnine roadmap pre- and post-launch.

• Guide architecture decisions for a real-time trading interface and its execution systems.

• Stay hands-on with the code: review pull requests, weigh in on design docs, and unblock engineers on hard problems.

• Own delivery through ambiguity, including sprint planning, tracking progress, and adjusting scope as the product takes shape.

• Set testing, code quality, and CI/CD standards for a team and codebase that are still young.

• Own production reliability and observability as Arcnine moves toward and through launch, including incident response.

• Establish engineering norms and practices for a new team, with an eye toward how they'll scale.

• Contribute to engineering standards and hiring practices at the broader Tradeify org level.

• Represent Arcnine's progress, risks, and needs in cross-functional planning.

What You Bring

• Prior experience managing or leading engineers, in addition to hands-on engineering experience.

• Full-stack or backend engineering background (React, Next.js, or Vue on the frontend; Python, Node.js, C#, or Go on the backend).

• Experience with REST APIs and WebSocket-based, real-time services.

• Familiarity with relational and/or in-memory data stores (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, or MongoDB).

• Experience running production systems on AWS, GCP, or Azure with Docker/Kubernetes.

• Comfort building 0-to-1 in ambiguous or fast-changing product environments.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with non-technical stakeholders including founders and traders.

Nice To Have

• Background in fintech, trading, or crypto.

• Experience with real-time systems and event-driven architectures (Kafka, NATS, or Pulsar).

• Familiarity with TimescaleDB or ClickHouse.

• Prior experience as an EM on a pre-launch or early-stage product.

• Experience managing teams that use AI-assisted development tools day to day.
