Your Impact
The QC/QA Technician plays an important role in supporting quality assurance and quality control processes within Pearce’s Land Survey division. This position is responsible for helping ensure survey drawings, field data, and project deliverables are accurate, complete, consistent, and compliant with company, client, and regulatory standards.
The QC/QA Technician performs detailed reviews and data verification while partnering closely with surveying, drafting, field, and project coordination teams to identify and resolve quality issues before deliverables are released.
This position also supports the development and maintenance of quality standards, checklists, documentation, training, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, technically knowledgeable, organized, and comfortable providing constructive feedback and coaching to team members.
Core Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Quality Control

Review survey drawings, field data, and project deliverables for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with project specifications and established standards.

Verify coordinate systems, boundary closures, title exceptions, and other critical survey elements before final deliverables are released.

Identify discrepancies, errors, or incomplete information and communicate findings clearly to appropriate team members.

Perform detailed redline reviews and ensure corrections are properly incorporated into final deliverables.

Support project audits and verify that documentation complies with client, company, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Uphold company standards and procedures as outlined in the Operations Manual.
Process Improvement & Documentation

Partner with Staff Surveyors, project leadership, drafting teams, and field personnel to refine and implement effective quality-control processes.

Assist with developing, maintaining, and updating QC checklists, templates, procedures, and documentation standards.

Track recurring errors, quality issues, and production trends and communicate findings to leadership.

Recommend process improvements that increase accuracy, consistency, efficiency, and overall production quality.

Help establish repeatable QA/QC practices across survey production activities.
Training & Team Support

Provide training and coaching to team members regarding QA/QC expectations, redline reviews, data integrity, and company quality standards.

Participate in onboarding and mentoring new employees to reinforce accuracy, consistency, and quality expectations.

Share technical knowledge and best practices with drafting, field, and project teams.

Provide technical assistance and problem-solving support to help teams resolve quality issues and meet production deadlines.

Promote a collaborative environment where quality and continuous improvement are shared responsibilities across the team.
Core Qualifications
-
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant work experience will also be considered.

3+ years of experience in land surveying, survey drafting, quality control, or a related technical environment.

Strong understanding of land surveying principles, survey drawings, field data, coordinate systems, boundary information, and data management.

Experience reviewing technical drawings and identifying discrepancies or quality issues.

Working knowledge of CAD drafting, with AutoCAD experience preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with technology platforms such as Trello, SharePoint, Power BI, and other survey or project-management software.

Strong attention to detail with demonstrated ability to identify and correct discrepancies in technical data and project deliverables.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear, professional, and constructive feedback across teams.

Highly organized and process-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple reviews and priorities while maintaining accuracy.

Ability to work collaboratively with surveyors, drafting teams, field personnel, project coordinators, and leadership.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to support production teams in meeting deadlines without compromising quality.

Willingness and ability to train, coach, and mentor team members on quality standards and best practices.
Physical / Work Environment
