Software Engineer
✨ AI Summary
Jimerson Birr P.A., a legal services firm, is hiring a Software Engineer to build and maintain internal applications, integrations, and AI-powered workflows. The role focuses on C# and .NET (ASP.NET Core), Azure, SQL, and modern frontends like Blazor or React, with a strong emphasis on AI-assisted development tools. Candidates require 7+ years of software development experience, deep architectural knowledge, and the ability to own projects end-to-end with minimal oversight.
The ideal candidate is not defined by a single language or framework. You understand software architecture deeply enough to pick up new tools as the work requires, and you have a track record of delivering full-stack applications that integrate with platform ecosystems. You will own projects end-to-end, from requirements through deployment and maintenance, and contribute to the team’s growing portfolio of internal applications, automation pipelines, and AI-powered tools.
You move fast and you like it that way. You're at your best with several things in motion at once, and a single project demanding narrow focus for weeks on end is the fastest way to lose you. Rules and process matter to you only to the extent they help you ship — you'll work around a rulebook that's slowing you down, and you don't need much oversight to know what to do next. You're direct and factual rather than diplomatic, more comfortable working through a hard technical problem solo than managing a room, and you'd rather earn trust with results than with small talk.
You have built the integrations that make platforms talk to each other, and you know that the friction vendor software leaves behind is where the expensive problems live. You have probably built internal tools at a company where technology was not the product, and you understand both the constraints and the leverage that come with that.
You take AI-assisted development seriously, treating it as infrastructure you have invested in and tuned rather than as a novelty. You ship quickly without shipping carelessly, and you are comfortable owning a project with minimal oversight.

- Extend the team's AI development tooling, including agents, context engineering, and automation that compounds across the team
- Contribute to the firm's growing portfolio of AI-assisted workflows
Cloud and Engineering Practice
- Build and operate applications on Azure, covering provisioning, networking, identity, security, and cost management
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, and engineering standards
- Participate in the team's shared IT responsibilities, providing on-call support as needed
Required Experience
- 7+ years of software development experience
- Proficiency in C# and .NET (ASP.NET Core), with production systems you architected or substantially owned
- Experience designing full-stack applications end to end, including a modern frontend such as Blazor or React
- Strong relational database and SQL skills, such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including deploying, operating, and securing real workloads
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs and integrating third-party SaaS platforms
- Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development workflows
- Working fluency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor
- Self-directed, able to own projects end to end with minimal oversight
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Architectural depth in multi-tenant or white-label platform design
- Experience with message-based or event-driven systems
- Identity and access work with OpenID Connect, Microsoft Entra ID, or comparable identity providers
- Production experience with AI and LLM APIs such as Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, or AWS Bedrock, especially Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, custom agents, or automation skills
- Observability practice, including structured logging, distributed tracing, and OpenTelemetry
- Familiarity with CRM platform APIs such as Salesforce, and with Microsoft Graph
- Experience mentoring junior developers or leading small technical projects
AI-assisted development isn't a bonus skill here, it's treated as core infrastructure you're expected to build with and improve. If you want to work somewhere technologically advanced enough to back that claim up with real investment and real autonomy, this is that place!
