Senior Software Engineer - Flowable, Java

We are seeking a highly skilled Flowable + Java Developer with strong expertise in Flowable, BPMN, CMMN, Java, Spring Boot, and distributed microservices architecture.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing business processes, implementing new features, modernizing and upgrading the Flowable platform to the latest version, resolving production issues, and delivering secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement business processes using Flowable
• Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for process optimization and modernization
• Develop and maintain BPMN and CMMN models
• Customize and extend the Flowable platform based on business and technical requirements
• Build scalable, distributed applications using microservices architecture
• Participate in the Flowable platform upgrade and modernization to the latest supported version
• Collaborate with business users, product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Facilitate process redesign and provide technical guidance on business process improvements
• Write comprehensive unit, integration, and automated tests
• Perform code and design reviews and ensure adherence to engineering standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve application and production issues, taking ownership through to resolution

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
• 8+ years of software development experience, preferably with significant experience in Java and enterprise application development
• Hands-on expertise in Flowable, including customization, APIs, and widgets
• Strong knowledge of BPMN and CMMN, with experience designing and implementing enterprise-level business processes and workflows
• Background in platform modernization, application upgrades, and production support
• Proficiency in Java (preferably Java 17+) and Spring Boot
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and backend application development
• Familiarity with distributed systems and microservices architecture
• Capability to analyze existing processes and recommend improvements
• Showcase of developing scalable and maintainable enterprise applications, ideally at enterprise-scale workflow implementations
• Strong English communication skills (B2 level or higher)
