Project description

The primary goal of the project is the modernization, maintenance and development of an eCommerce platform for a big US-based retail company, serving millions of omnichannel customers each week. Solutions are delivered by several Product Teams focused on different domains - Customer, Loyalty, Search and Browse, Data Integration, Cart.

Responsibilities

  • - Collaborate with other teams and the client to find the best solutions - Quickly onboard to Customer's processes, product domain, and supported device landscape

    QA activities:

    • Test design, creation and maintenance of test cases, checklists, and regression suites
    • Manual functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing of iOS and Android applications
    • Define and maintain the device/OS coverage matrix; execute testing on real devices, simulators, and cloud device farms
    • Mobile-specific verification: interruptions, network conditions, permissions, app lifecycle, install/upgrade flows, performance and battery behaviour
    • API testing (SOAP/REST) and traffic inspection to isolate client-side vs. backend defects
    • Release candidate verification and support of App Store / Google Play submission checks
    • Apply AI-assisted testing tools to accelerate test design, exploratory coverage, and defect analysis
    • Report and track the status of issues in the bug-tracking system, ensuring reproducible steps, logs, and evidence
    • Participate in requirements review, refinement, and estimation; raise risks and ambiguities early
    • Contribute to QA reporting - test progress, coverage, and quality metrics for the client

    SKILLS

    Must have

    • - 5+ years working as a QA Engineer with a focus on mobile application testing
    • Hands-on manual testing of native, hybrid, and mobile web apps on iOS and Android
    • Test Design - strong level (equivalence partitioning, boundary values, decision tables, state transition, exploratory/risk-based testing)
    • Test Approach - ability to define test strategy, scope, and device/OS coverage matrix from scratch
    • Mobile-specific testing expertise: interruptions (calls, notifications), network conditions (offline, 2G-5G, switching), permissions, app lifecycle (background/foreground/kill), install-upgrade-uninstall flows, battery and performance behaviour
    • Experience with real devices, emulators/simulators, and cloud device farms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, Perfecto or similar)
    • SOAP/REST API testing (Postman, Charles Proxy / Proxyman or similar for traffic inspection)
    • Experience of the formal software development lifecycle, with a solid grasp of manual testing methodologies and tools
    • Defect management and test documentation in Jira + TestRail / Zephyr / Xray
    • AI-driven testing tools - working familiarity (test case generation, exploratory support, defect triage)
    • Awareness of App Store / Google Play release and submission requirements
    • Keen to learn new technologies and tools

    Nice to have

    - Accessibility (WCAG, VoiceOver/TalkBack) and localization testing

  • Basic scripting or exposure to Appium/Espresso/XCUITest for collaboration with automation engineers
  • Analytics/crash-reporting tooling (Firebase Crashlytics, App Center)
