✨ AI Summary

Amazon is hiring a Principal Engineer for its AWS Transform team in Tel Aviv, focused on building Agentic AI services that autonomously migrate large enterprises to the cloud. This senior-level role involves architecting multi-agent systems using foundation models, chain-of-thought reasoning, and tool-use patterns, with a tech stack centered on AWS, LLMs, and infrastructure-as-code. You will lead 4 scrum teams, drive AI-first engineering culture, and mentor senior engineers. Requires deep expertise in AI/ML, distributed systems, and experience designing large-scale autonomous platforms.

AWS Transform is building the next generation of Agentic AI services that autonomously
migrate the world's largest enterprises to the cloud. With approximately 7/8 of all enterprise
workloads still running on-premises, we are at the center of one of AWS's most significant
growth opportunities. We are looking for a Principal Engineer who lives at the frontier of AI,
someone who can envision and build autonomous agents that reason about complex
infrastructure, make intelligent decisions, and execute large-scale migrations with minimal
human intervention. This is a rare opportunity to define the architecture of an AI-native
platform from the ground up.

Key job responsibilities
Define and architect the technical vision for an Agentic AI migration platform, where autonomous agents discover, plan, and execute full data center exits

Design and build multi-agent systems that leverage foundation models, chain-of-thought reasoning, and tool-use patterns to solve complex migration challenges

Architect AI-powered network transformation capabilities, using generative models to analyze, replicate, and optimize enterprise network topologies

Provide technical leadership across 4 scrum teams, instilling an AI-first engineering culture and ensuring architectural coherence across agent frameworks

Drive innovation in agentic orchestration to continuously improve autonomy and accuracy for migration of servers, storage, networks, and applications

Mentor senior engineers on AI-native development practices and cultivate a culture of rapid experimentation, spec-driven engineering, and high velocity releases on Brownfield projects.

A day in the life
You'll start your day evaluating the latest agent performance metrics, reviewing how your autonomous migration agents handled workloads, and identifying where reasoning chains can be improved. Mid-morning, you'll dive into architecture reviews for new agent capabilities, perhaps a planner agent that uses LLMs to decompose complex migration dependencies, or a network transformation agent that analyzes discovered topologies and generates infrastructure-as-code. Afternoons bring cross-team collaboration with US-based Principal Engineers, aligning on foundation model selection, prompt engineering strategies, and the overall agentic platform roadmap. You'll close the day mentoring engineers on AI system design, reviewing experiment results, and sketching out novel approaches to unsolved migration problems.
