How will I use AI at Roku?
At Roku, we don't just use AI, we work with it. AI agents and smart tools help power drafts, analysis, and repetitive workflows, while our people bring direction, judgment, and accountability. We're looking for curious, adaptable builders who can show how they've used AI or automation to move faster, raise the bar, and scale their impact.
We value your AI skills if you have built fluency across the agentic engineering toolchain — coding harnesses like Claude Code or Cursor, MCP servers, custom skills, or agent frameworks. And you can describe projects where you shipped real work with these tools. You know how to drive an agent, verify its output, and ramp on an unfamiliar codebase with an agent helping you.

- Work directly with SoC vendors and porting teams to define requirements, review designs for interoperability, ensure high-quality PAL and firmware deliveries, and resolve complex field issues
- Foster architectural decisions within the team, proactively identifying and addressing technical debt accumulation to maintain long-term code health and development velocity
- Define and enforce engineering best practices for audio software, including code quality, code review, design reviews, KPI monitoring, performance benchmarks, and regression prevention
- Partner with globally distributed leaders in hardware, firmware, software, and product/program management to align on priorities, schedules, and deliverables
- Engage with offshore scaling partners for product sustaining
- Represent the audio software team in cross-functional forums, communicating risks, trade-offs, and data-driven recommendations

- Genuine curiosity about agentic development paradigms and AI, with a drive to continuously explore how emerging AI capabilities can transform engineering workflows
- Strong background in embedded Linux or RTOS-based systems, including C/C++ development for resource-constrained or real-time environments
- Solid understanding of networking protocols and wireless communication, including Bluetooth and BLE
- Deep understanding of SoC architectures used in consumer electronics
