✨ AI Summary

Nasstar, an AWS and Databricks partner specializing in Generative and Applied AI, is hiring a Junior Applied AI Engineer. The role involves building and deploying AI systems using Python, with exposure to LLMs, RAG, and cloud platforms. Candidates need early-career experience in software engineering or AI, and the position offers remote-first work in the UK with a competitive salary and clear progression pathways.

As trusted partners of AWS and Databricks, we help organisations design, build and scale intelligent systems that deliver measurable business outcomes. We lead from the front in Generative and Applied AI adoption — guiding clients from uncertainty to confident, production-grade delivery.

This is an early-career role in our Engineering practice — the building work that takes AI from concept to production. As a Junior Applied AI Engineer you'll support the design, build and deployment of applied AI systems under the guidance of senior engineers, learning our tools, patterns and standards as you grow. It's a role for someone technically curious and eager to learn, with clear progression into more senior engineering roles.

The role is remote based in UK with the occasional travel to company events.

  • Collaboration: Work effectively within the team; participate in code reviews and technical discussions to improve engineering quality.
  • Growth & capability: Learn actively and grow your capability; contribute to internal knowledge sharing as you develop.
Essential
  • Early-career experience — industry, internship or academic — in software engineering, machine learning or AI-related development.
  • Foundations in programming (Python and/or a related language) and a genuine eagerness to learn.
  • A collaborative, curious mindset and clear communication.

Desirable
  • Exposure to GenAI/LLMs, RAG, cloud platforms (AWS and/or Databricks), or modern data/ML tooling.
  • Personal, academic or open-source projects that show your interest in applied AI.

  • Remote-first working with flexibility around client needs.
  • Opportunity to work on meaningful AI projects across multiple industries.
  • A collaborative culture focused on learning, excellence and continuous improvement.
