Role Description:
The Director of Software Engineering is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Greater Bengaluru Area, with flexibility for partial work from home. This role oversees multiple engineering teams, driving the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions that power Dentira’s healthcare procurement platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting technical direction, reviewing architecture and design decisions, guiding implementation of distributed systems, and ensuring high-quality software development practices. The Director will collaborate closely with product, operations, and data teams to translate business needs into technical roadmaps, prioritize projects, and manage execution across squads. This role also includes coaching and mentoring engineering leaders, improving processes, establishing performance metrics, and fostering a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and inclusive collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Strong foundation in Software Development and Software Design, with experience building scalable, reliable platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Distributed Systems and modern cloud-native architectures.
- Demonstrated Team Leadership capabilities, including mentoring, performance management, and growing engineering teams.
- Proven Project Management skills, with the ability to prioritize, plan, and deliver complex initiatives on time.
- Experience in setting technical strategy, defining engineering standards, and driving best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment.
- Background working in product-led or high-growth technology companies; healthcare or procurement domain experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with agile methodologies and collaborative tools used in modern software development environments.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
