UAV Systems Engineer
✨ AI Summary
Neros Technologies, a defense tech company building high-performance unmanned systems, is hiring a UAV Systems Engineer to prototype and improve FPV drone platforms. The role requires hands-on experience with FPV drones, electronics assembly, and firmware configuration using Betaflight, INAV, or ArduPilot. Candidates need at least one year of experience with FPV or robotics, proficiency in 3D modeling tools like Fusion360, and knowledge of control systems such as ELRS and CRSF.
Who we are
Neros is a defense technology company rebuilding America’s drone industrial base. We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale. Our team culture is fast, hands-on, and obsessed with closing the gap between design and deployment.
As drones transform the character of warfare, Neros is delivering the systems the West needs to compete on the modern battlefield and deter the adversaries of democracy. We’re hiring engineers, operators, and builders who want to move fast, take on extreme ownership, and get capability into the hands of warfighters in months, not years.
What you will be doing
Neros Tech is looking for a UAV Systems Engineer to work on prototyping and improving unmanned aerial platforms. If you have hands-on experience with FPV, electronics, and firmware, we'd love to have you on the team!
Responsibilities
- Assembling FPV drone prototypes of various classes
- Installing and connecting electronic components: FC, ESC, GPS, VTX, RX, antennas, PDB
- Soldering, cable routing, and maintenance of connectors and power systems
- Configuring Betaflight, calibrating sensors
- Diagnosing overheating, vibrations, and failures; relaying technical feedback to engineers
- Repairing prototypes after test flights
- Documenting the assembly process: maintaining build notes and wiring diagrams
- Working with measuring instruments (multimeter, oscilloscope, logic analyzer)
- Testing drones post-assembly, analyzing logs, optimizing parameters
- Participating in the improvement of UAV design and configuration
You should have the following
- 1+ year of hands-on experience with FPV / robotics
- Experience with Fusion360 / SolidWorks at the level of 3D printing
- Experience building drones from scratch: soldering, assembly, configuration
- Understanding and hands-on experience with control systems: ELRS, CRSF, SBUS
- Experience configuring and working with Betaflight / INAV / ArduPilot
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with 3D printing and 3D printer maintenance (priority)
- SMD soldering experience (priority)
- Experience with video systems: Analog 5.8, DJI, Walksnail, HDZero
- Understanding of VTX, antennas, RSSI/LQ, and RF interference
