About Ironsite

Construction is one of the most complex and labor-intensive industries, spending $7 trillion annually on labor, but productivity losses cost $1.6 trillion per year due to outdated management tools.

Ironsite leverages wearable cameras combined with human labeling and AI vision language models to drive on-site productivity, safety & training for crafts workers. We put cameras on construction workers' hard hats and vests to analyze what's actually happening on job sites.

We help teams cut labor costs, improve safety, and finish projects faster. We have captured ~50,000 hours of construction footage across 7 states and just partnered with the nation's #2 hard hat manufacturer. We’ve raised over $13M in seed funding from 8VC, South Park Commons, and 30+ leading operators and technologists, including Eric Glyman (Ramp), Jeff Dean (Google), and Scott Wu (Cognition).

The Role

We're seeking an exceptional Staff Engineer to help build out our Platform. You'll build and scale the product that turns our video data into something construction teams act on every day: the dashboards project leaders read by 5am, the labor-management tools superintendents run their jobsites on, the mobile experience craftsworkers carry in their pocket, and the integrations that connect Ironsite to the software the industry already lives in. You'll own critical initiatives that directly impact thousands of construction workers and dozens of major contractors, and help mentor and grow the team as we scale.

What You'll Build

  • Labor Management: Build the tools superintendents run their projects on: Time & Attendance, Crew Management, Change Order Management, Progress Tracking & As-Builts, and Labor Planning
  • Craftsworker Mobile Experience: Build the craftsworker-facing mobile web app: Profiles, Stats / Achievements / Badges, the Rewards Marketplace, exportable resume, and multi-language daily notifications with SMS delivery for workers in the field
  • Integrations & API: Build the connectors that plug Ironsite into existing construction and HR stacks — Procore, Autodesk, Trimble, and payroll / ERP systems — and the API infrastructure underneath them
  • Ground Truth Tooling: Build the internal tools that power our labeling operation and feed the AI team's data engine from the Tagger Portal, GT dashboards & admin tools, and quality tooling

Technical Challenges You'll Solve

  • Turning raw, high-volume model output into clear, trustworthy dashboards and a production report that has to be correct and delivered by 5am
  • Owning end-to-end architecture of systems and integrations for multiple tools including Procore, Autodesk, Trimble, and enterprise payroll/ERP systems that have inconsistent, legacy, and frequently messy data formats
  • Scaling internal tooling for a growing labeling workforce while keeping data quality high enough for the AI team to train and evaluate on

What We're Looking For

Technical Excellence

  • [required] 8+ years of full-stack product development in production environments
  • [required] Deep expertise across the stack — modern frontend frameworks (React/TypeScript) and backend technologies (Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis)
  • Strong background in API design, third-party integrations, and real-time data and analytics surfaces
  • Production experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and shipping reliable, high-scale web applications
  • Systems thinking for end-to-end product architecture and cross-team integration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree (B.S./B.A.) or Masters degree (M.S./M.A.) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with construction management software (Procore, Autodesk, Trimble), HR tech, or similar enterprise workflow tools
  • Background building analytics dashboards, reporting systems, and business intelligence surfaces
  • Experience shipping mobile web apps with offline/low-connectivity and multi-language support
  • Experience with construction, manufacturing, or similar operational industries

Location & Compensation

  • San Francisco Bay Area (on-site)
  • Competitive salary and significant equity package
  • Full benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401k +6% match
