Position Summary:
The Senior Information Security Engineer will be responsible for the ongoing development, implementation, and support of security strategies that strengthen PI’s enterprise, cloud, and artificial intelligence security practices, ensuring security controls are effective, risks are identified and addressed, and sensitive information remains protected. This role will work across multiple disciplines, collaborating with stakeholders, responding to complex security events, supporting compliance requirements, and helping foster a strong security-focused culture across the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop, configure, and support information security solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, endpoint monitoring, and vulnerability scanning tools.
- Design and implement secure network and system architectures for both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Apply artificial intelligence and machine learning security best practices to help protect systems, data, and workflows from emerging threats.
- Manage encryption protocols, authentication, and access controls to safeguard sensitive data.
- Monitor systems and networks for security breaches, irregular behavior, and vulnerabilities.
- Investigate security incidents, conduct analysis, and support responses to complex security events.
- Evaluate security configurations and the effectiveness of implemented changes.
- Ensure compliance with security standards, regulations, and internal policies.
- Conduct periodic security reviews and audits, identify risks, and recommend practical mitigation strategies.
- Partner with leaders and teams to assess emerging threats and implement proactive security measures.
- Work with security vendors to evaluate products, analyze functionality, and implement feature requests.
- Provide guidance on new security technologies, trends, and best practices.
- Train and educate staff on security awareness and best practices.
- Deliver secure solutions for complex projects, ensuring integration with existing systems.
- Participate in discussions on security strategy, architecture, and remediation plans.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support enterprise-wide security.
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 5+ years of experience in network security, cloud security, encryption, vulnerability management, security monitoring tools, and artificial intelligence security practices.
- Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, CCSP, or GIAC are preferred.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity regulations, information security standards, privacy requirements, and best practices.
- Experience with core security systems such as firewalls, VPN, intrusion detection and prevention tools, and enterprise security products.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services and cybersecurity solutions.
- Demonstrated project management skills and analytical, logical problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to explain security concepts clearly to executives, employees, and vendors.
- Availability for after-hours information and cybersecurity-related events when needed.
The salary range for this position is $118,300 to $188,600. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum for new hire salaries for the position. Starting salary is determined by several factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for an annual company bonus at an incentive target level of 12%.
