Senior Software Engineer, YouTube Creator Support

Ask Studio is a conversational Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbot being developed by YouTube to enhance the experience for creators on the platform and is envisioned as a comprehensive tool capable of understanding the specific context of a creator's channel, recent actions, and providing tailored support and guidance.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying robust Machine Learning (ML) systems and infrastructure to empower creators focusing on enhancing the quality of Creator chatbot using latest Large Language Model (LLM) breakthroughs. You will also conduct analytics to identify opportunities to improve creator experience and deliver end-to-end improvements. • Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain intelligent features and scalable systems for YouTube Creator Support leveraging AI and machine learning technologies.
• Partner and collaborate across cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product Management, and Program Management to deliver robust, high-impact solutions.
• Contribute technical strategy and architecture by defining long-term roadmaps, identifying design patterns, and implementing reusable, high-performance frameworks.
• Identify opportunities and emerging needs within the creator ecosystem to drive continuous product and engineering innovations.
• Mentor and support team members through code reviews, technical guidance, and engineering best practices to foster team growth and technical excellence.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Experience in building LLM based systems.
