Senior Blockchain Developer
Location: Remote with preferable working hours in UK time zone.
Type: Full-time, Senior Engineering Role
Company Overview
NexQloud is building a next-generation decentralized cloud platform (DCP) that leverages a globally distributed network of NanoServers and a Layer 1 blockchain infrastructure. Our blockchain is a Cosmos-SDK-based chain, forked from Evmos, and integrated with a robust token economy using NXQ tokens.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Blockchain Developer to take full ownership of the ongoing development, upgrades, and ecosystem expansion of NexQloud's Layer 1 blockchain platform. You will be responsible for maintaining our blockchain, implementing advanced features such as governance-based wallet locks, decentralized exchange mechanisms, Hyperlane bridging, and custom consensus configurations.
Key Responsibilities:
Chain Maintenance & Enhancements
- Maintain, monitor, and upgrade NexQloud's Cosmos-based Layer 1 blockchain.
- Implement hard forks, bug fixes, and performance improvements with minimal downtime.
- Manage validator coordination, genesis configuration changes, and chain parameter updates.
- Smart Contract Development
- Write, test, and deploy Cosmos-based smart contracts for:
- Decentralized Exchange (DEX) functionality (AMM, swaps, liquidity pools)
- Wallet lock/unlock rules governed by governance proposals
- Transaction volume caps and thresholds
- Staking reward logic and slashing rules
- Optimize contract gas usage and security.
Bridge Integrations & Interchain Connectivity
- Integrate with Hyperlane or similar bridging protocols to allow cross-chain NXQ token transfers.
- Implement interchain messaging and asset flow (IBC integration).
- Monitor relayer health and ensure uptime of cross-chain communication.
Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with the CTO, DevOps team, and product stakeholders.
- Document architecture, smart contract logic, governance models, and upgrade plans.
- Contribute to community education and ecosystem growth via GitHub, blog posts, or AMAs.
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in blockchain development, with 2+ years on Cosmos-SDK and/or Evmos forks.
- Strong proficiency in Go (Golang), Rust (for Cosmos), and Solidity (optional).
- Experience deploying and upgrading production blockchains.
- Deep understanding of staking, governance, validators, tokenomics, and IBC.
- Prior work on DEXs, cross-chain bridges, or smart contract-based access control is a plus.
- Familiarity with blockchain monitoring, RPC/WebSocket endpoints, and chain analytics.
- Experience with forked chains, custom module development, and network upgrades.
- Strong version control (Git), CI/CD workflows, and Linux-based development.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Knowledge of Hyperlane, Axelar, or other IBC bridge protocols.
- Familiarity with Cosmos governance tooling (Commonwealth, Keplr, etc.).
- Security auditing experience or formal verification techniques.
- Contributions to open-source Cosmos projects.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary (region-dependent)
- Equity and NXQ token incentives
- Performance bonuses linked to product milestones
- Opportunity to work on an industry-defining decentralized compute and blockchain infrastructure
