Solutions Architect, SMB, Solutions Architecture
✨ AI Summary
Amazon Web Services, a leading cloud computing provider, is hiring a Solutions Architect for its Small and Mid-Market segment in Taipei. The role focuses on high-velocity technical enablement, leveraging AWS services like Amazon Bedrock, serverless, and containerization to drive customer adoption. Candidates require strong customer-facing skills, deep AWS technical expertise, and the ability to balance 1:1 engagements with 1:many enablement activities.
Are you energized by helping fast-growing companies make the right technical decisions quickly, without the luxury of a six-month evaluation? Do you enjoy turning a hard-won solution into a repeatable asset that serves the next fifty customers? Do you thrive on being the technical advisor who helps a founder or an IT manager go from idea to production in weeks rather than quarters?
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. We work with Taiwan's small and mid-market businesses — manufacturers, independent software vendors, and internet-native companies — that are modernizing operations, building SaaS products, and scaling globally on AWS, and we believe that pragmatic technical guidance is critical to their success.
As a Solutions Architect within Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build broad adoption of AWS services across small and mid-market customers in Taiwan. You will work as part of the Cloud Sales Center (CSC), AWS's front-line high-velocity sales organization, partnering with Cloud Sales Representatives (CSRs), Demand Generation Representatives (DGRs), and our partner ecosystem to serve customers at scale (1:many) and at high velocity. You will focus on key themes including Generative AI and Agentic AI (Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Quick, Amazon Kiro), application modernization, migration and datacenter exit, foundational security and Well-Architected practices, and cost-efficient architecture — helping customers reach production outcomes fast, and helping many of them at once.
You will own the technical engagement and ultimate success of customer initiatives across a broad portfolio of accounts — from discovery and architecture design through proof-of-concept and production launch. Equally, you will own the leverage side of the role: building the Immersion Days, workshops, demo environments, reference architectures, and reusable runbooks that extend your technical reach far beyond what 1:1 engagements allow. You will develop deep expertise in AWS technologies while building broad knowledge of how modern applications are architected on AWS, including containerization, serverless, and AI/ML services.
A successful candidate will possess strong customer-facing skills to represent AWS effectively with founders, business owners, IT managers, and senior technical stakeholders, combined with technical depth that enables meaningful collaboration with software developers and architects. The judgment to match engagement depth to opportunity — knowing when a customer needs a thirty-minute answer rather than a three-week deep dive — is as valuable in this role as technical range. Experience with generative AI use cases, experience working with channel partners, and the ability to deliver technical content to groups are highly valued.
Key job responsibilities
- Act as the technical partner to Cloud Sales Representatives and Demand Generation Representatives across an assigned territory or industry vertical, enabling small and mid-market customers to build best-practice solutions on the AWS platform.
- Scope each customer engagement with clear objectives and success criteria, applying judgment about the appropriate depth-to-value ratio for a high-velocity segment.
- Drive hands-on proof-of-concept builds, technical validations, and architecture reviews across Generative AI (Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Quick, Amazon Kiro), data & analytics, security, and application modernization to accelerate customer outcomes.
- Design and deliver 1:many technical enablement — Immersion Days, hands-on workshops, webinars, and demo environments — that reaches many customers simultaneously.
- Build and maintain reusable technical assets including reference architectures, onboarding runbooks, and demo environments that reduce repetitive technical load across the team and raise the technical floor for the whole territory.
- Work with Solutions Architects across our AWS Partner Network (APN) partners to extend technical coverage over a high-volume account base, collaborating on solution design and architecture reviews so that customers land on well-architected outcomes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Cloud Sales Representatives, Specialist SAs, partners, and marketing to deliver end-to-end outcomes, and capture and share best-practice knowledge with the broader Solutions Architect community across APJ CSC.
A day in the life
You will own technical outcomes across a broad portfolio of customers, which means most days move between several of them. You might spend a morning on three unrelated architecture calls — helping an ISV choose between Amazon Bedrock and a self-hosted model, sizing a database migration for a manufacturer, and walking a startup through a security baseline — then join a Cloud Sales Representative to technically qualify a new opportunity before it goes any further. Other days you'll deliver an Immersion Day to thirty customers at once, build the technical content that makes a Demand Generation campaign credible, review a migration design proposed by a partner Solutions Architect, or rewrite a reference architecture so that the next twenty customers asking the same question can be answered in an hour instead of a week. The volume is real, and so is the judgment it demands: much of the craft in this role is deciding which engagements deserve depth, and which are better solved once, for everyone. You will work closely with Taiwan's fastest-growing businesses — and you will be measured as much on the leverage you create as on the individual engagements you support.
About the team
The AWS Taiwan Solutions Architecture team partners with the country's most impactful organizations across public and private sectors to drive cloud adoption and digital transformation. Our SMB practice supports the Cloud Sales Center — AWS's front-line, high-velocity sales organization — helping small and mid-market businesses across manufacturing, software, internet, and startup segments adopt AWS quickly and build well from the start.
We are a team of builders and pragmatists. The defining challenge of this practice is reach: there are far more customers who need good architectural guidance than there are hours to give it one-to-one, so we invest heavily in mechanisms — workshops, demo environments, reusable assets, and partner collaboration — that let good technical judgment scale. We work alongside Cloud Sales Representatives, Demand Generation Representatives, system integrators, and distribution partners to meet customers wherever they are in their journey.
Our culture values curiosity, ownership, and continuous learning. Whether it's building a reference architecture that the whole region reuses, presenting at a developer community event, or collaborating with Solutions Architects across our APN partner ecosystem to raise the technical bar, we believe the most valuable work is the kind that keeps paying off after you've moved on to the next customer.
