Forward Deployed Engineer
About DevRev
At DevRev, we're building the future of work with Computer – your AI teammate. Unlike traditional tools, Computer unifies all your data sources, tools, and workflows into a single AI-ready platform, giving employees real-time insights, proactive suggestions, and powerful agentic actions. It extends your existing software with AI-native apps and agents that work alongside your teams and customers – updating workflows, coordinating across teams, and eliminating repetitive work. We call this Team Intelligence: human-AI collaboration that breaks down silos, brings people back together, and frees you to solve bigger problems. Backed by Khosla Ventures and Mayfield with $150M+ raised, DevRev is trusted by global companies across industries.
About the role
This is not a traditional software engineering role. You will operate at the intersection of engineering, solution architecture, partner enablement, product expertise, and delivery. You will work directly with partners and customers to understand requirements, scope solutions, unblock implementations, and translate complex business workflows into AI agents, integrations, automations, and repeatable vertical solutions.
You will own the technical partner journey end to end — from onboarding, enablement, and certification through solutioning, implementation delivery, technical adoption, and ongoing partner success. At the same time, you will build reusable internal tools, frameworks, playbooks, and product capabilities that allow DevRev and its partners to scale across multiple implementations.
Success in this role requires strong technical depth, ownership, and presence. You should be comfortable writing production-quality code, designing integrations and data flows, working with APIs and cloud infrastructure, using SQL and observability tools to troubleshoot complex systems, and applying modern AI techniques such as LLMs, RAG, function calling, prompting, and evals.
You will also be an AI-augmented builder, using tools such as Claude Code, Gemini, and DevRev Computer to accelerate development, investigation, documentation, and delivery while applying sound engineering judgment.
Ultimately, your role is to make our implementation partners dramatically more effective — helping them deliver faster, solve harder problems, scale across customers, and represent DevRev with technical credibility and confidence.
- Client-facing: 50% working directly with external customers and partners.
- Internal Building & Product SME: 50% building for internal customers (internal stakeholders) and acting as the go-to product expert.
- Own the End-to-End Implementation Partner Lifecycle: Take ownership across the full implementation-partner lifecycle — partner onboarding, enablement and certification, co-selling and deal support, implementation delivery, and ongoing partner management — covering all partner-related work across every engagement.
- Build & Run Partner Enablement: Create partner enablement courses and hands-on training materials, track partner progress and engagement through dashboards, and act on those insights to close gaps and drive certification and readiness.
- Build & Deploy Solutions: Design, develop, and launch AI agents, skills, integrations, and automations that connect DevRev with customers' existing tech stacks and workflows.
- Build Vertical Solutions: Design and develop industry-specific, vertical solutions (e.g. pharma, financial services, retail) — packaging DevRev's platform into repeatable, domain-tailored offerings that map to real customer use cases.
- Co-Build Vertical Solutions with Partner PMs & Product Leaders: Work with implementation partners' Product Managers and Product leaders to shape, scope, and co-build vertical solutions — aligning on use cases and priorities and jointly deciding what gets built.
- Scale Horizontally Across Partner Implementations: Support multiple partner implementations in parallel — reusing frameworks, playbooks, and solutions to drive delivery across many engagements at once rather than one at a time.
- Be the Face of DevRev: Represent DevRev as the technical face in partner calls — and sometimes directly in customer calls — building trust, guiding decisions, and owning the technical relationship.
- Unblock Everything: Solve both technical and non-technical blockers across partner implementations, keeping delivery moving and stepping in wherever a project is stuck.
- Integrate Systems: Connect DevRev with SaaS and non-SaaS platforms through APIs, webhooks, and real-time communication architectures for seamless one-way and two-way data flow.
- Build for Internal Stakeholders: Design and ship internal tools, agents, and automations that make DevRev's own field, delivery, and go-to-market teams faster and more effective.
- Product SME: Serve as the subject-matter expert on the DevRev platform — the go-to person internal teams and partners rely on for deep product, integration, and agent guidance.
- Close the Product Feedback Loop: Turn field learnings into structured product input — filing issues and enhancements, and partnering with Product and Engineering to shape the roadmap and unblock delivery.
- Optimize AI Performance: Apply prompt engineering, fine-tune semantic search engines, and leverage generative AI techniques to enhance agent accuracy and user experience.
- Scope & Estimate: Run requirements gap analysis, solution design, and effort estimation so partner and delivery teams start with a clear, grounded plan.
- Own Data Insights: Write SQL queries, perform data analysis, and build dashboards to surface insights that drive customer and delivery decision-making.
- Prototype & Iterate: Develop rapid proofs-of-concept, conduct live technical demos, and refine solutions based on customer and stakeholder feedback.
- Manage Stakeholders & Cross-functional Alignment: Manage expectations across partner, customer, and internal stakeholders, and keep tight communication loops with engineering, product, customer success, support, and revenue teams to ensure alignment.
- Guide Technical Adoption: Learn and master new tools, then guide partners through critical workflows like code repository integrations and advanced configurations.
- Experience: 5+ years in software development, systems integration, or platform engineering. Customer-facing experience is a plus.
- Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Coding Skills: Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, data structures and algorithms. (Nice to have: Go)
- Applied AI Knowledge: Familiarity with large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, frameworks like RAG and function calling, and building evals to validate agentic AI solutions.
- Integration Expertise: Deep experience with large-scale data synchronization (one-way and two-way), API integration patterns (REST, GraphQL, webhooks), and event-driven/pub/sub architectures.
- Cloud & Deployment: Hands-on experience deploying on serverless and edge platforms (AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions) with modern DevOps practices (CI/CD, containers, observability).
- Data Transformation: Skilled in data mapping, schema alignment, and working with heterogeneous systems. Understanding of data modeling and graph data structures.
- Observability: Experience implementing clear logging, actionable error surfacing, and telemetry to support faster debugging and issue resolution.
- Context-Aware Systems: Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) for building adaptive, context-aware integrations.
- End-to-End Partner Ownership: Ability to own the implementation-partner lifecycle end to end — from onboarding and enablement through co-selling, delivery, and ongoing partner management.
- Partner Enablement: Ability to build enablement courses and hands-on training, and use dashboards to track progress and drive partner readiness.
- Vertical & Domain Awareness: Ability to learn a customer's industry quickly and translate domain requirements into product and solution design.
- Stakeholder Management & Communication: Skilled at managing expectations and building trust across partner, customer, and internal stakeholders, and articulating technical concepts clearly to engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders.
- Ownership & Presence: Able to be the trusted technical face in partner and customer calls and scale across multiple engagements at once.
- Problem-Solving: Strong track record triaging and unblocking both technical and non-technical blockers to keep projects moving forward.
- Documentation: Experience writing concise, well-structured documentation that supports long-term team understanding and seamless onboarding.
