Job Description
As an Online Programmer on Far Cry, you will help support production teams in creating connected experiences. You will participate in the design, development, and maintenance of the game's online systems.
What you will do
The Online team brings together two main areas of expertise:
- The use and integration of standard Ubisoft services to meet the game's needs. This includes their integration, as well as providing features through the creation and adaptation of Snowdrop plugins (C++).
- The development of deployment and automation tools for managing game servers. The infrastructure and associated services are based on a GitOps approach and rely in particular on ArgoCD, Kubernetes, Go, and TypeScript.
Depending on your experience, interests, and professional aspirations, you will be able to contribute to one or the other of the Online team's areas.
Qualifications
What you bring
- A degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with C++ and/or Go, as well as TypeScript.
- Experience in maintaining, optimizing, or operating online systems and services.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication skills allowing you to explain technical concepts to different audiences.
- An ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to a common vision.
- A strong sense of organization, autonomy, and rigor, combined with a strong curiosity and a willingness to learn.
- A creative spirit and an interest in innovation.
Assets
- Experience in the development and optimization of highly scalable and available microservices in Go.
- Experience related to the management and deployment of game servers, as well as the administration of cloud infrastructures (Kubernetes, Azure, or AWS).
