We are currently searching for a SCADA / PLC Programmer:

The Challenge (Responsibilities)

  • Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC logic for manufacturing equipment and automated production processes.
  • Configure and maintain SCADA / HMI screens, tags, alarms, data points, and equipment status monitoring.
  • Define, map, and validate equipment signals / tags required for MES integration, production tracking, quality, traceability, and equipment status reporting.
  • Troubleshoot communication and data-flow issues across equipment, PLC, SCADA, OPC / middleware, and MES interfaces.
  • Support integration testing between shop-floor equipment and MES, including signal validation, handshake logic, error handling, and recovery scenarios.
  • Work with equipment suppliers and controls engineers to review PLC / SCADA design, identify gaps, and implement required changes.
  • Maintain version-controlled PLC / SCADA programs, change records, tag lists, interface specifications, and deployment / rollback procedures.

Your Profile (Requirements)

  • 3+ years of PLC, SCADA, industrial automation, or controls programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting PLC logic using major industrial control platforms.
  • Hands-on SCADA / HMI configuration and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols and connectivity such as OPC UA / DA, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience defining and troubleshooting equipment tags, signals, alarms, interlocks, handshakes, and production data collection.
  • Understanding of MES-to-equipment integration patterns and shop-floor data flows.
  • Ability to troubleshoot live production issues across controls, communications, SCADA, and application interfaces.
  • High-Performance Mindset: Resilience, emotional intelligence, and a focus on agile delivery.
  • Technologist DNA: A deep understanding of the difference between "coding" and "engineering."

Desired

  • Battery, automotive, semiconductor, or other high-volume automated manufacturing experience.
  • Experience integrating equipment with MES for production execution, genealogy/traceability, quality, material consumption, and equipment status.
  • Experience supporting production-line expansion, equipment installation, commissioning, or ramp-up activities.
  • Experience working with global engineering teams and equipment suppliers supporting North American plants.
  • Familiarity with industrial networks, OT cybersecurity requirements, and controlled change-management practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native foundations or AI coding assistants.

Languages

  • Advanced Oral English: For seamless collaboration with global teams.
  • Japanese communication capability is preferred.

Special Notes

  • Programming capacity may be delivered through a combination of global resources and on-site support, depending on commissioning needs.
  • Day-to-day priorities, interface requirements, technical decisions, and release/commissioning readiness will be governed by the MES Delivery / Technical Leader.
  • Initial scope focuses on defined PLC / SCADA changes and the equipment-to-MES integration backlog.
