Senior Data Analyst / BI Analyst

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst / BI Analyst to support data transformation, reporting, and modernization initiatives. This role requires someone who can work closely with business stakeholders to understand complex requirements and translate them into practical technical and data solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Power BI, Alteryx, SQL, Snowflake, data modelling, and data warehousing, along with excellent analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with business stakeholders to identify, clarify, and document complex data and reporting requirements.

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications, data models, transformation rules, and reporting solutions.

• Analyze existing processes and legacy data sources to determine how information should be transformed and migrated into modern platforms.

• Integrate and consolidate data from multiple sources, including Excel, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and legacy systems.

• Use Alteryx to blend, cleanse, transform, and prepare data from multiple sources.

• Support the creation and use of repository/data layers within Snowflake.

• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI.

• Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities to make data and reporting solutions more efficient and user-friendly.

• Work extensively with stakeholders to obtain information, validate requirements, resolve data issues, and ensure deliverables meet business needs.

• Apply strong critical thinking and decision-making skills to complex data and business problems.

• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, including dashboard development, reporting, and data visualization.

• Strong experience with Alteryx for data transformation, preparation, and blending.

• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.

• Experience with data modelling and data warehousing concepts.

• Experience working with Snowflake as a user/consumer of the platform; Snowflake development expertise is not required.

• Experience integrating and transforming data from multiple sources.

• Experience working with Excel, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and legacy systems.

• Experience supporting data migration or modernization initiatives.

• Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into data and technical solutions.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to ask the right questions and follow up with multiple stakeholders to obtain required information.

Nice to Have

• Python scripting experience, particularly for data analysis, text analytics, automation, or future AI-related initiatives.

• Exposure to Microsoft Fabric or similar modern data platforms.

• Experience supporting AI, analytics, or compliance-related data initiatives.
