Senior Software Engineer

Ryz Labs is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our startup studio and build scalable, production-ready solutions from the ground up.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on challenging, high-impact products, collaborate with experienced teams, and explore how AI is changing the way software is built — while having real ownership over the solutions you create.

This is a long-term hybrid opportunity, with 1 day per week at a coworking space in Palermo.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and ship scalable backend services, APIs, and integrations.

• Develop production-ready solutions using Node.js, Python, and/or Java.

• Work on system design, databases, performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Integrate AI tools, LLM APIs, and third-party services into real-world products and workflows.

• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to turn ideas into high-impact solutions.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across production environments.

• Contribute to technical decisions and help shape engineering best practices.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in backend software engineering.

• Strong experience with Node.js, Python, and/or Java.

• Solid understanding of APIs, databases, system design, and distributed systems.

• Experience building and maintaining production-grade applications.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to engineering.

• Interest in AI/LLM technologies and their practical application in software products.

• Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment.

• Excellent communication skills in English.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with AI/LLM APIs or AI-powered features.

• Experience with AWS, GCP, or other cloud platforms.

• Exposure to React, Vue, or other modern frontend frameworks.

• Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment.
