Your role:
We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to support our global database operations during an exciting period of technological transformation. You will be the frontline defender of our database environments, ensuring daily health, security, and performance. This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your PostgreSQL skills while gaining hands-on experience managing legacy Oracle databases, modern multi-cloud infrastructure, and executing cross-platform database migrations in a large-scale enterprise environment.

Here you’ll get to:

  • Daily Operations & Monitoring: Perform routine database maintenance, monitor automated jobs, and investigate Level 1 and Level 2 alerts for capacity and performance issues across both PostgreSQL and Oracle environments.
  • Migration Support: Actively assist Senior DBAs in the technical execution of migrating legacy Oracle workloads into PostgreSQL cloud environments.
  • Backup & Recovery: Manage comprehensive backup and recovery strategies across relational database systems. Execute native Oracle and PostgreSQL backup methods, conduct routine restore testing, and manage archive pipelines to safeguard against data loss.
  • User & Security Management: Manage database users, roles, and schemas. Perform routine user access audits and assist with SOX compliance documentation.
  • Enterprise Job Scheduling: Monitor automated batch jobs and agents, troubleshoot aborted jobs, schedule chains, and assist developers in configuring automated tasks.
  • Incident Resolution: Troubleshoot database connectivity, performance issues, and invalid objects. Escalate complex P1/P2 incidents to Senior DBAs when necessary.
  • Multi-Cloud Support: Assist in maintaining and monitoring cloud database instances across our multi-cloud footprint.
  • About you:

  • Foundational knowledge of Oracle Database Administration to support legacy systems pending migration.
  • Proficiency in PostgreSQL administration, including installation, configuration, basic tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with multi-cloud platforms, primarily AWS (EC2, RDS) and GCP. Basic knowledge of or exposure to Azure is a plus.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python, Shell, etc.) to streamline database administration, monitoring, and backup processes, with cloud automation experience being a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) administration is a plus.
  • Experience working with current server operating systems, including Linux and Windows.
  • Solid understanding of SQL, query analysis, and database schema management.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations to support our 24/7 global operations.
