Behind the visualizer is a second product line: QFloors, the business management platform flooring dealers run their companies on, from leads and quotes to invoicing, purchasing, accounting, and payroll. Today it is a Windows desktop application delivered through the cloud, and we are moving it, domain by domain, onto a modern web ERP that is part of the Roomvo Pro platform. Dealers, suppliers, and manufacturers meet on that platform, and that is where our next stage of growth comes from.

About the role
You will own whole business domains of that migration, such as invoicing or purchasing, from end to end. You will design how each domain lands in our modern ERP backend and front end, build it, and cut dealers over to it safely while they keep working. Along the way, you will read the legacy desktop code to find out what it really does, and occasionally change it.

About you
You have a passion for solving complex problems and working on products that businesses run on every day. You enjoy setting the bar high and clearing it. You can lead by example, but you know when to step aside and let the team run with the ball.

You turn an ambiguous requirement into a plan the team can execute. You care about data: you know that a schema decision made today is one that every customer lives with for years. You want to own something meaningful, and you want the engineers around you to grow because you were there.

We hire humans, not job descriptions. You should apply even if this role and salary range don't align with your experience. We’re happy to create unique roles and compensation for the right talent.

About our stack
  • ERP backend: Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, AWS
  • ERP frontend: Next.js, TypeScript, React
  • QFloors Desktop: C++ on Windows, PostgreSQL, Azure

What you'll do
  • Own one or more business domains of the migration, end to end, across the backend and frontend of our modern web ERP.
  • Write the design for each domain: the data model, the API shape, tenant isolation, and how the cutover works, including the rollback.
  • Model each domain from the legacy schema onto the new one, and plan and run the data migration safely on live customer data.
  • Read the desktop codebase to find hidden dependencies and real behaviour before rebuilding it, and make changes there when a migration step needs it.
  • Own the reliability of your domains in production: lead incident fixes, add the monitoring that was missing, and leave the system better than you found it.
  • Set the bar in code reviews across backend and frontend codebases.
  • Work directly with Product and the other team to shape the work, and push back with evidence when something will not hold.
  • Mentor intermediate developers and engineers growing from the desktop side into the web stack, and help with hiring.

We’re looking for someone with
  • 5+ years of software development experience building and operating systems that businesses depend on in production.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals based on a degree in computer science or distinctive work experience in software development.
  • Strong data modelling and relational database skills, ideally including multi-tenant systems.
  • Experience designing and building backend services and APIs, and enough front-end experience to own a feature in the UI as well.
  • A track record of shipping changes to live systems safely: feature flags, incremental rollouts, data migrations with a way back.
  • A demonstrated ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • A leadership mindset. You take initiative, make decisions and deliver results consistently
  • Strong communication skills, including with people who are not engineers.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where learning and adaptability are key
Preferred, not required:
  • Experience with Python and Django, and with Next.js or React.
  • Experience with ERP, accounting, or other business management software.
  • Experience reading or maintaining C++ or other legacy desktop code.
