Junior Software Engineer – Cato Apps Team (AI)

We're looking for a talented and junior Software Engineer to join the Cato Apps Team (AI) - the team building Cato's agentic harness and intelligent agent ecosystem, powering how customers interact with Cato's SASE platform, supporting and enabling all of Cato agentic solutions.
This team is at the forefront of Cato's AI innovation, building AI-native systems and agentic harness that transform how IT and security teams operate, troubleshoot, and make decisions.
In this role, you'll help shape and build the foundation of Cato's AI-powered management and support experience, directly impacting thousands of global customers by making Cato's platform smarter, faster, and easier to use by leveraging the power of AI.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop Cato's Agentic Infrastructure, leveraging state-of-the-art technologies to build highly scalable, AI-native end-to-end services — from backend logic and service integration all the way to AI-first products such as Cato's AI Assistant.
- Design build and deliver features covering all application layers, FE, BE, pesistance including responsibility on the deployment, and production monitoring of delivered features.
- Collaborate closely with AI/ML engineers, product managers, and UX designers to define and deliver intelligent, conversational and none conversational AI powered capabilities.
- Drive innovation and bring new ideas for AI-based automation, autonomous workflows, and insight generation across the platform.
Requirements:
- 2–3 years of software-development experience, with strong Java fundamentals and experience building backend services and APIs.
- Experience contributing to full-stack web applications, including Java backend services, React frontend development, and DB.
- Familiarity with cloud-native development practices, including microservices, CI/CD, containerized deployments, and production monitoring.
- Hands-on experience with AI-powered applications or LLM APIs, combined with a curious, collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn.
